GS E&C is constructing bright Light and Energy in the world. Our goal is to enter the Global Top Tier in the Power Plant field by 2015.

Combined Cycle Power Plant / Thermal Fired Power Plant

Since GS E&C successfully constructed our first Combined Cycle Power Plant

Ilsan Plant (500MW) in 1994, we have been providing total solutions in engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning in the field of Thermal and Coal Fired Power Plants. We completed Bugok No. 1 Combined Cycle Power Plant (500 MW) in 2001 and Taean No. 5 & 6 Coal Fired Power Plant (500MW) in 2002. Also, we constructed Incheon No. 1 Combined Cycle Power Plant (500 MW) in 2003 and Dangjin No. 7 & 8 Coal Fire Power Plants (500MW) in 2004. Now, we are carrying out the construction of Inchoen No. 2 Combined Cycle Power Plant (550MW) which is scheduled to be ready for operation in 2009.

Based on our vast experience in the domestic power plant field, GS E&C was awarded the contract for Yerevan Combined Cycle Power Plant (205 MW) in the Republic of Armenia. The scope of work ranges from engineering, procurement, construction to commissioning. We were the first Korean company to construct a Power Plant in the CIS market. We are continuously broadening our worldwide market, especially into South-West Asia, Middle East Asia and South America. As one of the global leaders in the Power Plant field with proven EPC capabilities, we have been planning to expand with a Desalination Plant and an Integrated Coal Gasification Combined Cycle Power Plant which uses the more environmentally friendly Clean Coal Technology.

Co-generation Plant/ District Heating

Since first constructing a Co-Generation Plant for a petrochemical complex in Yeosu in 1984

we have continued to set the pace in this field with reliable technology, thorough project management and quality control. We are completely trusted from our customers, while successfully constructing Osan Co-generation Power Plant, Anyang Co-generation Power Plant, and Anyang District Heat Expansion Project.

We face many challenges in our efforts to make our plants more competitive and more cost effective, while satisfying strict environmental regulations and overcoming the limitation of resources in the near future. Electricity demand will continue to increase in the coming decades, therefore, in the view of EPC contractors, GS E&C is prepared to construct the cleanest and the most efficient Co-generation Power Plant using re-cycled energy and Carbon Dioxide Reduction & Sequestration technology to limit any environmental effects.

Nuclear Power Plant

Based on GS E&C’s extensive and reputable experiences in petrochemical and power plants

we have been participating in the construction of Nuclear Power Plant No. 1 & 2 since 2003, located at Shin-Wolsung in the southeastern part of Korea, which demands advanced technology and extremely strict quality control. GS E&C has acquired essential qualifications, such as KEPIC (Korea Electric Power Industry Code) and ASME, which are required to take part in Nuclear Power Plant Business. Also, the company has organized a hugely qualified team who are experienced in the construction of Nuclear Power Plants. GS E&C is focusing its efforts on this Project to make an integrated and safe Nuclear Power Plant and to comply with strict environmental regulations. We will continue to expand in the Nuclear Power Plant Business both domestically and abroad.
